It is close to the mystical Western Fells and the Valleys of Wastwater and Ennerdale. The highest mountain (Scawfell) and the deepest lake (Wastwater) are within a short drive.

Springbank Lodges are close to the attractive village of St Bees with its renowned beach and coastline.

There are a number of pubs in the village, most serving pub meals.

The historic priory is well worth a visit and the village is the start of the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk.

There are many cycle ways close by including C2C, the cross-England cycleway.
